Served in the educational public system in various capacities including instructor, department chair, literacy coach, and regional curriculum specialist for Miami Dade County Public Schools.  She also served for a charter management company in the capacity of Assessment and Accountability Director for schools in Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Lee, Orange and Duval Counties.

Ana and her husband, Daniel, have been where you are right now. Many voices telling them what they "should" or "should not" do. They have two children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum and one diagnosed with ADHD.

The husband and wife team feel that homeschooling their three children with support needs has been the best choice they made for their children as they are able to truly customize and meet their children's needs- one on one, the whole time of academic instruction. They were even able to structure their day to include therapeutic interventions such as Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

It can be very overwhelming to look through so many different choices especially, educational choices.

Galovin Solutions Inc. can help you navigate these different methodologies, theories, styles and various curriculum choices.

REASONS AND MOTIVATIONS

Most parents and youth decide to homeschool for more than one reason. The most common reasons given for homeschooling are the following:

  • teach and impart a particular set of values, beliefs, and worldview

  • provide a safer environment for children and youth, mitigating violence, drugs and alcohol, psychological abuse, and improper and unhealthy sexuality associated with institutional schools,

  • customize or individualize the curriculum and learning environment for each child,

  • accomplish more academically than in schools,

  • allowing children to learn at their own pace,

  • use pedagogical approaches other than those typical in institutional schools,

  • enhance family relationships between children and parents and among siblings,

  • provide guided and reasoned social interactions with youthful peers and adults,

  • as an alternative education approach when public or private institutional schools are closed due to acute health situations such as related to disease (e.g., Covid-19, Coronavirus)

Regardless of the circumstances, we work closely with you and your family, and often mental health, therapeutic and other professionals, to design comprehensive homeschooling programs or supplemental enrichment, including thematic units, special projects, experiential learning opportunities, or service-learning.

We help families to navigate, determine, and execute the best course of action with the support and supervision of a professional and multidisciplinary teaching team. This work includes helping families to identify and supervise appropriate and skillful teachers as well as comply with and exceed state and school district regulations.
